Delay in Receiving Items Requested From Other Libraries

ILL Delay

Beginning immediately, Bossard Library (and other libraries in Ohio) will experience a delay in receiving books, audios, CDs, and DVDs ordered for our patrons from other libraries via interlibrary loan.

Requested items have always been delivered to Bossard Library via a statewide delivery service. Due to ongoing delivery issues with the current carrier, the Ohio library system is switching to a new carrier.

It will take time to transition from the old carrier to the new carrier and to handle the backlog in requests and deliveries.

Patrons may still request items from other libraries, however, depending on how many holds are in the queue it might be as long as the end of April or later before items are delivered to Bossard Library.

We will keep patrons apprised if there are any changes to this timeline.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we appreciate your patience during this time.

Please keep in mind that you still have access to the local collection of materials located at Bossard Library and to digital downloads (ebooks, digital audiobooks, magazines, music, movies) from the Ohio Digital Library and Hoopla. The delay specifically deals with items that Bossard Library borrows from other libraries located throughout the state.
